About us

Jagrut Mahila Sangh Trust, launched on 2013, is an arm of Jagrut Mahila Sangh focusing on social services with regards to street children in India. It is has full acknowledgment of the plight of street children on the streets each day ranging from lack of food, money to access education and health services. In this regard, it is set up remind us of the poverty these defenseless groups face in society by availing education and health support.

Education is one of the main focuses of the Jagrut Mahila Sangh Trust because they believe that it is a key factor in the breaking of the poverty cycle and giving hope for a brighter future to the street children. So in order to ensure that children get education without any hindrance, they have established schools and learning institutions which operate from within shanties where they reside. Furthermore, the trust awards scholarships, gives out books among other learning resources.

The Jagrut Mahila Sangh Trust’s street children also get given healthcare services, aside from education. They are well aware that access to health is a huge problem among these children and their families, thus; they deal with it by organizing health camps in the slums where they provide medications, checkups and medical check-ups. Accordingly, the trust offers material medical help, drugs as well as referral services to hospitals when need be for severe cases.

The trust also strives to provide sustenance, shelter, and apparel to destitute street urchins who badly require these rudiments. They are aware that they are usually forsaken and have to take care of themselves because of this reason; therefore, they offer what is necessary for their survival.

In India, Jagrut Mahila Sangh Trust does an amazing job helping its street children—otherwise hopeless kids—live better lives. With their assistance these children can dream again; they receive education, healthcare services, or even mere necessities such as food or warm clothing. The way in which they have dedicated themselves to improve the lives of street children through social work is truly admirable; they are a beacon to those who are focused and committed.
